School Policies

Policies every student and parent should know

Gateway Online School is committed to transparency. Below you'll find our key academic and financial policies to help families plan and prepare effectively.

📖
Academic Integrity

Students are encouraged to work diligently and make active use of the live support available. Faculty are dedicated to making the academic experience engaging, stimulating, and enjoyable for each student.

Core & Electives — 70 to 90 hours per semester (4–5 hrs/week)
Honors — 90 to 120 hours per semester (5–7 hrs/week)
AP — 120+ hours per semester (7+ hrs/week)
⚠️ All work must be completed solely by the student. Gateway implements the Three Strike Rule: three instances of academic dishonesty result in an automatic failing grade.
📅
Attendance Policy

Students are required to contact faculty for any absences or delayed work. While Gateway's flexible model accommodates varied schedules, consistent engagement with coursework is essential for academic success.

Notify faculty in advance for planned absences
Make up delayed work within the agreed timeframe
Maintain consistent weekly engagement with coursework
💳
Payment Policy

Tuition and fees are due before a student enrolls in a class. Payment is required before Gateway Online School can provide transcripts and diplomas.

Late payment fee of $25 applies for overdue balances
Some courses require additional materials (textbooks, science kits)
Families are responsible for obtaining extra materials
💰
Refund Policy

Gateway's refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent. Please review the following terms before enrolling.

Drop within 1–28 days of course start → full refund minus $75 fee
Drop after 28 days → no refund granted
💡 Have questions about our refund policy? Contact our admissions team before enrolling for clarification.
